Why is it slow in the evenings?

Last Updated: 27th of May, 2011

Please be aware that residential broadband services operate as a shared resource, this means as more people start using the internet the slower it may get.  This means during the day your Internet experience may differ to what your experience at night/peak time.  Our Operations team are constantly monitoring our network load and trying to improve performance across the board.

There are some other obstacles to be aware of in relation to speed. The residential broadband services on offer in New Zealand is regulated, these regulations can hinder our ability to improve service and impact the majority of Internet Service Providers in some shape or form.
